Features:  

1) Refined from pure natural menthol, and evaluated as a "Fine  Quality Product" by Anhui Province in 1984

a) Color and appearance: colorless, transparent hexagonal or  needle like crystals  

b) Odor: natural odor of menthol obtained from Mentha Avensis oil  

c) Melting point: 42 - 44°C  

d) Non-volatile matter: 0.05% maximum  

e) Solubility: 1g soluble in 5ml of 90% (v/v) alcohol, clear solution  

f) Specific rotation: -49 ~ 50 degrees (20°C)  

g) Thymol test: negative  

h) Litmus paper test: neutral  

i) Arsenic content: 3ppm max.  

j) Heavy metal content (calculated as Pb): 10ppm max.  

2) Action and indication: widely used in pharmaceutical, food,  cigarettes, tooth-pastes and cosmetics  

3) Storage: stored in closed containers and kept in cool and dry places,  below 33°C, avoid sunshine and rain  

4) Packing: 25kg/barrel, paper barrel: 40cm (diameter) x 50cm (height)  

5) Quality guarantee term: 12 months (under the conditions of  fulfilling the requirements of storage and transport, and the packing  is completed and sealed)  

6) Standards: Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2000 edition, the USP-24, the  BP-2000 and the FCC edition
